I am happy.
Also, I have an attached shop. It needs some TLC, and demoldification, but compared to what I had to do for my last garage, it’ll be a breeze. And this one doesn’t need a new roof.
Also, check out some of my chandeliers:

That garage/shop is beautiful. Bravo. Enjoy it!
So, with that out of the way.... You keeping the chandeliers?

You’ve taken your half in the middle.

I see a 2-bay shop with enough room for four cars using two lifts. Plus toolboxes.

I have a two-car garage, but it’s so full of shit that I can’t get one car into it.

Craftsman style so fancy! I even like the chandeliers.
![]() 06/19/2018 at 20:58 |

Congratulations! We’re still working getting all the assorted stuff in boxes out of the third bay of our new garage so you’re way ahead. I also envy you those workbenches. Evidently the previous owner of our place only thought of a garage as a place to park (weirdos) so I’m going to have to build some.
![]() 06/19/2018 at 20:58 |

You could fit like 6 Fiats in there!
![]() 06/19/2018 at 21:02 |

You could totally fit 3 in there if you wanted to.

Where did you get this house? Price, as well? :v

There is space for 2 Kei cars.

Looks like an old timer, that trim work appears superior to 99% of new builds.

Hey now! My garage is just for parking, charging, a freezer, tools, and storage of some stuff (like boxes and furnace filters). No room for such luxuries as a workbench.
![]() 06/19/2018 at 21:16 |

Weirdo.
![]() 06/19/2018 at 21:23 |

Why have you not rated these chandeliers?
Also, out of curiosity, what is your opinion of mine?
![]() 06/19/2018 at 21:26 |

Nice! Thanks for not asking me to help you move. I would have cancelled anyways

The Smart Roadster was so small we were able to clean it up in the garage with 3 people walking around. For size comparison, ISF has about 6 inches to spare on each side, if that.

Me too. On the other hand, mine does house six vehicles of the two-wheel, human-powered variety.

I’ve got 5 bikes, a table, and a truckload of other shit that I just need to get rid of.
![]() 06/19/2018 at 21:44 |

Very nice! You may be able to even put a small lift in the garage.
Is this house made in the 1910-1920s? Those chandeliers looks like a 1920s design.
![]() 06/19/2018 at 21:52 |

Right there with you. I have the bikes, a table, a desk, unused exercise equipment, boxes of books (!), a couple of excessively large aquariums, camping gear out the wazoo, and tools, lots and lots of tools.

Yeah, if, you get it.

The fact you approve actually means a lot to me. It came with the house and I have mixed feelings about it since it collects dust and isn’t easy to get up to since it’s hanging from a really high ceiling. The glass itself is a cloche, which are designed to protect objects from dust, but hung upside-down so the bell end is up and it collects it inside instead. That said, it’s not actively objectionable for any other practical reason, so I allow it to remain.
But let’s talk about your new chandeliers... What are your ratings for them?!
![]() 06/20/2018 at 00:25 |

So much room for activities!

Excellent Doctor! This is essential to any car-going-tomfoolery. You want toys? You need a toy box! Now you’ve got one. Congratulation!

Are these excessively large aquariums in use?
![]() 06/20/2018 at 00:32 |

That is so sad. I’d offer to help, but last weekend was a holiday and this weekend I’m painting a nursery...

Damn, that’s reasonable.

It’s not far from where I live now. Longbed and doggo will have to do.

It was a bad joke. I was going to bring the Seattle housing market into it, but we whine too much about it.

Glass on the second one is awesome by itself, but I hate brass. I mean, I’m not saying brass is bad, just that I don’t want any of it in my house. So naturally I’ll be living with brass until I can afford a remodel.
![]() 06/20/2018 at 01:09 |
|
JESSS!!
![]() 06/20/2018 at 01:23 |
|
Yeah, it’s a slow process making it your own. I had the sink, fixing some doors, buying furniture that didn’t suck, replacing all the crappy mismatched-color-temp bulbs with LEDs (first project), etc.
Brass is sadly quite dated, so I can see why. But neither seem tacky, unlike the ones you usually post.
You should move them to your garage.
![]() 06/20/2018 at 02:42 |

No, seriously. My dad just moved back to this region and he’s in the market for a decent house. Problem is, in retirement he’s not going to have a mountain of cash to throw at a broken housing market.
He’s actually considering moving back to Alabama a second time since prices aren’t as fucked up there.
![]() 06/20/2018 at 05:14 |

congratulations.
![]() 06/20/2018 at 07:41 |

Unfortunately, no. I have a couple of 40 gal that have been used off and on since I got married. A friend of mine built a really cool two-storey stand for the pair, but my wife hates it. End result is that the last time one of them was in use was for a bearded dragon.
Those are the small ones. The big ones are 55 gal and 200 gal. The movers crated them when we came to Louisiana and our new house didn’t have enough space to set them up, so they’ve been sitting in crates in the garage ever since.
![]() 06/20/2018 at 08:43 |
|
That is so depressing. I had a visual of either that (sitting disused) or some fun aquatic/terrarium use in the garage. It’s really sad that your wife doesn’t appreciate them.
I can’t even fathom what I’d do with a 200 gallon. The biggest I ever had was a 100, which I couldn’t practically move that my parents still have and now use to house guinea pigs... My biggest terrarium was custom built and around 1500 gallons, but it had to be mothballed when my iguana died.

Shoulda called. I would have helped.
![]() 06/20/2018 at 12:24 |

Nah, don’t worry. Also I haven’t moved anything at all, so don’t offer!
![]() 06/20/2018 at 12:26 |

HA!
![]() 06/20/2018 at 13:23 |

It is somewhat depressing, but it’s really not her fault. We went from a two-storey home with a basement to a slab-on-grade single-storey home that is about half t he size. There just isn’t room for a big aquarium.

Did the house originally have gas lighting or is it older than that?
